Q. How does The Waterford at Rossmoor differ from a life care retirement community?

A. The primary difference is that The Waterford allows you to purchase your own condominium home. This means you may sell your Waterford home at any time, or the condominium may be willed with the estate. You preserve equity and the tax benefits of ownership, and retain the advantage of any appreciation of value.

Q. What does the weekly housekeeping service do?

A. The housekeeper will dust, vacuum and thoroughly clean the kitchen and bathrooms, change the linens and remove the trash. Window cleaning will be provided on a periodic basis.

Q. What is included in the dining program?

A. The Waterford’s restaurant style dining rooms, for the exclusive use of Waterford residents and their guests, serves two meals daily. One meal each day is included in the monthly fee. Residents may contract for additional meals on a regular basis or charge meals to their accounts. Private parties may be accommodated in four private dining rooms. Catering and room service are available at an additional charge.

Q. May I have overnight guests? Are children allowed to visit?

A. Your guests are always welcome at The Waterford. They may stay in your home or in one of the four guest suites, which are available, on a fee basis by reservation.

Children are welcome.

Q. What security services are offered at The Waterford?

A. A security plaza at the entrance to Rossmoor is staffed 24 hours a day. All guests must receive written or telephone permission from a Rossmoor resident in order to enter the community. The Waterford has its own 24 hour staff; all building entrances are secured. Each condominium has an emergency call system connected to the front desk for immediate response.

Q. What type of activities and social events are available at the Waterford?

A. A full time Waterford Activities Coordinator plans activities and events of interest to the residents. These activities include bridge games, social gatherings. Live entertainment, educational classes, arts & crafts and group excursions & trips.

Q. Is a supervised exercise program available at The Waterford?

A. Yes, a fitness coordinator is available at scheduled time to supervise classes for residents in the on site exercise studio.

Q. How is The Waterford managed?

A. A professional management team is responsible for the daily operation. The Waterford has its own Homeowners’ Association and Board of Directors to develop resident policies and budget guidelines, which are implemented by the director.

Q. Is personal care provided?

A. No personal care is provided but is available through outside businesses.
